This World Bank-funded Project is based on best practices and lessons learnt in other countries. The project sought to identify the most appropriate strategy (e.g. city centres, transport corridors) to deploy charging infrastructure in a healthy and cost-effective manner, taking into account the capacity and flexibility of the Turkish electricity grid, the expected increase in the share of EVs, the optimal fast/slow charging balance, the optimal number/share of stations in public and private areas (including households), technologies to reduce the load on the grid and increase efficiency, the travel route in the country and other factors relevant to the Turkish context.
